Press Enterprise "Wholeheartedly" Endorses Cheryl Brown

SAN BERNARDINO, CA (October 4, 2016) - Today, Assemblywoman Cheryl Brown's (D-San Bernardino) campaign is announcing the latest endorsement from local newspaper, the Press Enterprise, solidifying her candidacy as one strongly backed by local community support.

Cheryl Brown is the only candidate for Assembly District 47 able to claim the endorsements of all mayors and members of Congress in the district, the only candidate to be supported by state-wide public safety organizations, teachers and small business organizations, in addition to garnering the endorsements from the Daily Bulletin and the San Bernardino Sun newspapers.

The Press Enterprise Editorial Board writes: "[Assemblywoman Cheryl] Brown, D-San Bernardino, does a fine job of representing the interests of the constituents of her low-income, blue-collar district, and we wholeheartedly endorse her for re-election. Brown has emphasized education funding, jobs, veterans’ services, water supply, seniors and long-term care – things that matter greatly in her district. Her emphasis on education and jobs for her low-income district is good for the environment, too. After all, every mega-commuter who can learn needed skills and land a job in the district will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by shortening his or her daily drive to a faraway jobs center."

"I am so glad to have the support from the Press Enterprise," said Assemblywoman Cheryl Brown. "Despite my opponent going negative in her campaign, using every play in the playbook to smear my record, our community is not being swayed. I am so proud of being the choice of so many of our community leaders, police, firefighters, teachers, working men and woman and our local newspapers. My record of standing up for the community I live in and fight for continues to be recognized."
